Recorte del artículo publicado por el periódico El Mercurio el 30 de mayo de 1991, titulado "Rinden homenaje a Nicanor Parra en universidad norteamericana", en donde se informa que la Biblioteca Carter Brown, perteneciente a la Universidad Brown de Providence, el 29 de mayo inauguró una exhibición especial de libros chilenos: "Chileana", que incluye toda la obra del poeta. Además, se menciona que Parra recientemente habría recibido un doctorado honoris causa por dicha institución.
