Carta de Gloria Galindo y Helge Krarup a Jorge Edwards, enviada desde Dinamarca el 3 de enero de 1992. En esta, se comenta que, dado que el año 1992 es el quinto centenario de la llegada de Colón a América, se quiere realizar una cooperación internacional que tenga como resultado una antología en castellano y danés, que contemple a autores daneses y latinoamericanos. Frente a este escenario, se invita al escritor a participar en la antología a través de un texto breve e inédito, que aborde qué ha significado el descubrimiento de América y la identidad latinoamericana en la actualidad.
