Biographical history
Escritor chileno, realizó su enseñanza escolar y universitaria en la capital de Chile, pero abandonó esta última sin obtener un título profesional. Entre sus libros más reconocidos destacan Patas de perro (Ediciones UDP, 2021) y Eloy. Su narrativa se caracteriza por un uso magistral del estilo indirecto libre y una prosa muy recursiva, así como por una presencia importante de temáticas sociales que distinguen a sus obras más emblemáticas. En el año 1970, recibe el Premio Nacional de Literatura.
Tras el golpe militar de 1973, se exilia en Suiza.
